Haiti Earthquake Disaster Response |
The Salvation Army is mobilizing resources and personnel to assist with
the international relief effort in Haiti following a severe earthquake
Tuesday that damaged much of the country's infrastructure, housing and
commercial buildings. The public can help most right now by making a
financial gift that gives the Army the purchasing power needed to care
for disaster survivors.
Financial donations can be made by calling
1-800-SAL-ARMY or by visiting www.salvationarmyusa.org; or
people can mail checks to The Salvation Army World Service Office,
International Disaster Relief Fund, PO Box 630728, Baltimore, MD
21263-0728. Also, cell phone users can now make a $10 contribution to
the Salvation Army for relief efforts by texting the word "Haiti" to
52000 - and will be billed through their cell phone service provider.
